The Isle of Wight's Rookley Country Park is situated on the Shanklin Road, in the Rookley area of the Isle of Wight. This popular 22-acre / 9 hectare country park includes the Rookley Inn, which has access to a large fishing lake, a pitch and putt golf course, a children's play area and also an outdoor swimming pool.

The Isle of Wight Botanic Gardens benefit from the sub-tropical climate of Ventor, which is a sheltered area situated on the east of the Isle of Wight. With more than 10,000 plants and over 4,000 different species, the Isle of Wight Botanic Gardens contain many Mediterranean plants and trees.

Formerly the site of the Isle of Wight Royal National Hospital for Diseases of the Chest, which was founded in 1861, the Botanic Gardens cover 22 acres / 9 hectares of landscaped, terraced grounds.

Isle of Wight Gardens: Robin Hill Country Park - Downend, Arreton, Central Wight, Isle of Wight, England

Robin Hill Country Park is situated in the Downend area of the Isle of Wight, close to Arreton. Covering around 88 acres / 36 hectares, this large Isle of Wight parkland offers spectacular views, nature trails, picnic areas and more than 20 theme-park attractions and rides, which make it particularly popular for children visiting the Isle of Wight. Other attractions at the Robin Hill Country Park include Roman villa excavations and woodland walks.

The Isle of Wight's Osborne House gardens cover 50 acres / 20 hectares and include a formal Italian garden and terraces to the rear of the house. There are also large Lebanon cedars, magnolias, rhododendrons, azaleas, a walled-kitchen garden, fountains, statues and guided tours of the gardens.

The charming landscaped Mottistone Manor Gardens surrounds the delightful manor house and has been owned by the National Trust since 1963. Other attractions nearby include a 12th-century church, and the remains of a Neolithic long barrow.
